PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a massive success, but on both platforms the game is still very much evolving as the developers continue to create and tweak content to create the optimum gaming experience. In the last Xbox patch, changes were made to the damage players and vehicles would do to each other, making it easier to fight off a vehicle trying to mow you down and making vehicles less overpowered.

Now, new patch notes confirm that due to player feedback, the developers and players didn’t like where the changes were going, and as such decided to revert back to the old damage values while they reconsider how to tweak it.

The patch also continues to work out the many kinks of the Xbox version of the Battle Royale hit, such as a buggy camera and vaulting specific walls. Over on the PC version of the game, the developers are implementing new anti-cheating measures to combat the flow of those who would ruin the game for others.

Gameplay

  • We received a lot of great feedback following the changes made to vehicle/player damage. We continue to tune and balance this element of gameplay, and are therefore reverting back to increased damage if a player is struck by a vehicle.

Bug fixes

  • Resolved an issue preventing players from vaulting over specific ledges and/or windows
  • The camera will now remain in the correct location following player death
  • Vehicles will no longer relocate to another position on the map after the player disembarks
