Rumors about Sony’s planned reveal event for the PlayStation 5 and its games have been running amuck for a while now. Originally it was stated the reveal event would happen on June 4th and that there would be an “entire slate of games”. It was later said to have been delayed, but according to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, early June is still the planned time.

Speaking to people “with direct knowledge of the matter”, Schreier says there will be a digital event on June 3rd to showcase titles for the PS5. Some have stated that the date could change since things are constantly in flux (especially with the ongoing pandemic). Don’t expect to hear everything from Sony next week, but other PS5 events could follow in the “coming weeks and months,” so there should be a steady stream of information.

This is a pretty crucial time for Sony especially with Microsoft hyping up the Xbox Series X and planning a showcase of first party titles in July. The former has promised to introduce a “compelling lineup of titles” soon so June certainly seems reasonable. As always, stay tuned for more details in the coming days.
