Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale: New Details on DLC Characters Emmet and Kat

Though some work is pending, both characters are shaping up rather well.

Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, developed by Superbot Entertainment and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PS3, has had some above-average to good reviews. More importantly, it’s gotten past the “finally done” stage. Now, Superbot is focusing on the first wave of DLC characters – namely Emmett Graves from Starhawk and Kat from Gravity Rush.

Seth Killian spoke about both, and the design process they’ve been undergoing. “I’ve been really happy with the way that Emmett’s trending on paper at least. He’s got a lot of what they call the ‘Build and Battle’ system

“Starhawk had a lot of great technology where you’re always dropping crazy things from the sky, and we’ve tried to really implement that to represent the character. You can assume that some gun attacks will end up in his design as well, but we really wanted to accentuate this construction mechanic.”

Meanwhile, Kat is still “a bit broken right now” but as Killian states, she “moves around the screen right now like nobody else. I’m sure, even if it doesn’t stay in the way that it is right now, that she’ll have a lot of crazy movement options and definitely the ability to play with gravity. Obviously, she’s immune from it, and she’ll have the opportunity to exploit that in battle. She’s got a lot of great combos already actually.”

As of now, there’s no release date or information on the DLC but it will be free for two weeks after launch.
