Rumors of a new PlayStation Showcase have been circulating for some time with a new trailer for Hogwarts Legacy apparently set to be showcased (if it doesn’t release sooner). Sony hasn’t officially confirmed a showcase but it could be coming sooner or later. Gamereactor’s Eirik Hyldbakk Furu spoke to four “very reliable sources” at Sony along with a source “outside of the company” last month who said that a PlayStation Showcase or State of Play was planned for this week.
However, the report was withheld till now because some developers who will be showcasing their titles (including PlayStation Studios teams) asked for the show to be delayed due to the “awful stuff happening right now.” The presentation could be delayed by a “week or two” in that case. However, it seems that there will be some “very exciting announcements” from both PlayStation and its partners before the month is out.
Take things with a grain of salt, as usual, but Gamereactor has been fairly on point with its reports in the past (like Giancarlito Esposito being in Far Cry 6 before the official announcement). Stay tuned in the meantime for more details.
