Though he left the company last year along with other writers, Portal 2 writer Jay Pinkerton is now back with Valve. A Redditor first noticed Pinkerton’s name under “Other Experts” on Valve’s staff page and PC Gamer learned officially from Valve that he was back with the company.
Pinkerton also worked on Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 along with writing comics for Team Fortress 2 while he was at Valve. His return doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s working on a Portal sequel or anything related to much-desired sequels for Left 4 Dead or even Half-Life. Instead, it could be a result of Valve’s renewed focus on shipping games.
In the past few years, the company has been synonymous with its uber-popular online store Steam, the uber-popular MOBA Dota 2 and the fairly popular competitive shooter Counter-Strike: GO. However, along with announcing a new CCG title called Artifact, Valve also acquired Firewatch developer Campo Santo. What could Valve have planned for the future?
