Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake Delayed to March 2021

Ubisoft feels that more time is needed to complete the game.

Originally slated to release on January 21st 2021, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is now set for March 18th 2021. Ubisoft announced the delay on Facebook with the translated message noting that more time was required to complete the game. “We believe this is the right decision to ensure we deliver a game you enjoy.”

Revealed at Ubisoft Forward back in September, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is a faithful recreation of the 2003 classic developed by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai. While its overall visual quality was criticized, game director Pierre-Sylvain Gires confirmed that the game would still receive additional polish up till its release. Newer screenshots are definitely better than the initial showing.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is currently in development for Xbox One, PS4 and PC with support for Xbox Series X/S and PS5 via backwards compatibility. It’s also rumored to be coming to Switch, though Ubisoft hasn’t confirmed the same. Stay tuned for more details and updates in the coming months.
