It’s amazing just how rapidly this one specific rumor cycle developed- 24 hours ago, the PS4 Slim wasn’t something anyone was giving much thought to at all, as apart from the odd analyst report, no one had even raised the possibility of something like it ever existing. Then, late yesterday evening, the PS4 Slim was purportedly leaked, complete with a set of images showing the system from various angles, followed by The Wall Street Journal confirming its existence.
And now, for any of you who were still doubting the Slim’s existence, the final piece of proof is here- in order to verify the existence of this new console, Digital Foundry’s Richard Leadbetter visited the person who claimed to have bought the console from Gumtree and saw it in person. And he didn’t just see it- he took a video of the console powering on and booting up (to shut up the naysayers who were insisting it is a 3D print).
So, here we are- the PS4 Slim is real, it is coming, and it doesn’t necessarily look as good as the original PS4 did, but I am sure it will be a great success regardless, particularly if it is accompanied by a price drop too. What a crazy 24 hours, huh?
