While Sony has promised substantial features with the upcoming firmware update 2.0 for the PS4, including custom themes, it still continues to release numerous smaller updates for the console. This includes software update 1.76 which has released earlier today. It’s 200 MB in size and “improves system stability”. You know, pretty much like several other updates in the past few months.
Regardless, we’d rather have improved system stability than not have it at all. Firmware update 2.0’s most significant new feature will be Share Play which allows players to call in friends to help them. You can basically let your friend take control of your console remotely and play the game through online access. Sony claims this feature will be pretty much the same as handing a controller to your friend on the couch for assistance.
Sounds good to us but we’ll be expecting something more in the coming months. Have you downloaded system update 1.76 yet and have you indeed noticed better system stability? Let us know in the comments.
