PS5 Launch Title Godfall’s Leaked Gameplay Clip Shows Off Combat

It's a brief clip, but it looks crisp.

Godfall

We only know about one game that has been confirmed as a launch title for the PS5 so far- that’s Godfallthe “looter-slasher” action RPG being developed by Counterplay Games and published by Gearbox. And of course, given its status as a next-gen launch title, Godfall’s visuals will be under a lot of scrutiny, as audiences try and glean what the PS5’s hardware is going to enable.

Recently, a brief leaked gameplay clip of the upcoming title has shown us more of the looter- and it’s looking quite impressive. Over on Reddit, user YeaQuarterDongIng shared a clip, 6 seconds long, that they claim is “a fraction of the footage from an unreleased trailer” they have access to. The footage focuses on the game’s combat, showing off its melee-focused fights very briefly.

There’s also some HUD on display there (like what look like indicators for enemies similar to God of War). What’s most notable, though, is that the game looks excellent- and though there’s no telling whether this will be representative of the final product, it’s certainly encouraging. Take a look through the link above.

Godfall is confirmed to release as a launch title for the PS5 this Holiday. Developers Counterplay Games have built the game with co-op in mind, and claim that one of the reasons it is a PS5 console exclusive is because of its controller’s improvements and its SSD. Read more on that through here. Meanwhile, you can also watch another gameplay clip from Godfall – also focusing on combat – through here.
