The Holiday season has boosted sales for a number of games in the UK this week, as per the latest sales data for physical copies sold of games, provided by Gfk Chart-Track. Though the games in the top 10 this week are the same as last week (with some of them switching around in positions), GamesIndustry reports an increase in sales for many of them.
Red Dead Redemption 2 retains its spot at the top of the perch, with a 26 per cent increase in week-on-week sales, with FIFA 19 trailing close behind, having seen an increase in sale of its own of 45 per cent week-on-week. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s position also remains unchanged this week, coming in at number 3, with the game now having sold over a million copies in the UK.
Thanks to a discount in prices, Battlefield 5 saw a 55 per cent increase in sales, jumping up to fifth place in the charts. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is one of the few games in the top 10 to see a decrease in sales, falling to 5th place with a 24 per cent week-on-week drop. It has, however, overtaken Splatoon 2 in terms of LTD sales already, with just three weeks on the market, and in the process become the Switch’s fifth highest selling game in the UK.
Spider-Man saw a substantial increase of 62 per cent in sales, and is now the fourth best selling new game released this year in the UK. On the Microsoft side of things, Forza Horizon 4 is also performing strongly, with a 35 per cent increase.
