Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2 launched back in November for PC and had its fair share of issues. Its success couldn’t be denied though with digital sales crossing 406,000 units. According to SuperData in its worldwide digital game sales report, however, that figure more than doubled when the open world title released for Steam on December 5th.

Digital sales hit 1 million units in total, which is a pretty substantial bump. As SuperData points out, Red Dead Redemption 2 was initially available for the Epic Games Store and Rockstar Games Launcher in November. But the wait for its Steam release was short enough that more than enough were willing to wait.

The sales increase is significant considering the number of issues that the PC version launched with. It seems many were willing to overlook this or at least willing to risk jumping in (numerous patches have since released). We’ll see how the game’s success on PC plays out over the long term.
