After Capcom announced that Resident Evil 2’s 1-shot demo had been downloaded 1.1 million times, official stats now indicate that the number is even higher. As it turns out, the demo has been downloaded more than 2.3 million times. That’s only taking into account those who wanted their time tracked, by the way.
Perhaps more interesting is how only 26 percent of players managed to complete the demo. The 1-shot demo’s key hook is that it can only be played for 30 minutes in total. After that, it is no longer playable, though some have found a way to get around this. If nothing else, the demo is worth it to get an idea of what the final game will play like.
Resident Evil 2 is out on January 25th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The first review score is out courtesy of Famitsu and it’s fairly positive. Director Kazunori Kadoi and producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi also talked about the game’s length, noting that each character’s story requires 10 hours to complete.
