We’re just a little over a month away from the remake of Resident Evil 3. Earlier today we got a blow out of information about the game, including a ton of gameplay footage and screenshots which you can read about through here. We also now know the game’s Director, and he’s got quite the pedigree.

According to an interview with Dengeki, the remake is being led by Kiyohiko Sakata. Sakata actually has his own studio, Red Works, but will still be heading the production. He is a veteran of both Capcom, as well as PlatinumGames, so he’s got quite the resume. Not only that, he worked as a programmer for the first four Resident Evil titles, including Lead Coder for RE4. Very fitting that someone with such a legacy connection is heading a revival of an old school title.

Resident Evil 3 will release on April 3rd for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. A demo is said to also be coming soon, so keep your eyes open.
