As you'd expect from a remake of a nearly two-decade old game, the upcoming Resident Evil 4 has made some huge leaps over the original.

Capcom has an excellent track record with remakes of Resident Evil games, so it’s no surprise that the upcoming Resident Evil 4 remake has turned a lot of heads since its announcement earlier this month. In the little bit of it that we’ve seen so far, the game has looked absolutely gorgeous, and a new comparison video highlights just how comprehensive of a visual jump the remake is going to be over the 2005 original.

The video, uploaded by YouTuber ElAnalistaDeBits, pits footage of the upcoming remake directly with gameplay footage from the original Resident Evil 4, showing Leon walking through the forest, some familiar locations and characters, and more. For obvious reasons, the jump here isn’t as significant as it was with, say, 2019’s Resident Evil 2 remake, but it still looks like a huge leap forward. Check it out below.

Resident Evil 4 is due out on March 24, 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
