resident evil 4 remake

Earlier this month, Capcom officially announced the Resident Evil 4 remake, and in the process, premiered a pretty meaty trailer of the survival horror game. The Japanese publisher promised a fresh look at the remake at its own showcase, and while that fresh look turned out to be far more brief and far less packed than many had anticipated, they did at least show off some new gameplay footage.

The gameplay shows protagonist Leon S. Kennedy walking through the woods, and… yeah, that’s about it. The point here seems to be to show off how atmospheric and moody the game is looking, which seems like a very different tone from what the original game is known for. New screenshots have also been released, and those, too, are looking visually impressive. Take a look below.

There was plenty of other Resident Evil news shared at the recent Capcom Showcase. Resident Evil 2, 3, and saw native launches for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S with various enhancements, while Capcom also unveiled a ton of new content for Resident Evil Village, including story DLC Shadows of Rose, new content for Mercenaries, and a third person mode. Read more on that through here.

Resident Evil 4, meanwhile, is due out on March 24, 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
