Resident Evil 7 Announced, PS4 Demo Now Available

That was unexpected.

resident evil 7

I don’t know how it’s possible, but Resident Evil 7 was just announced at Sony’s stage at E3, and I don’t know how it’s possible, but the game actually looks like it won’t suck for a change. In a dramatic change from tradition, the game looks like it will be a true horror experience, and it also seems to be eschewing the third person viewpoint that the series has had since the seminal Resident Evil 4, opting instead for a first person perspective.

Additionally, the entire game will be playable in VR, via PlayStation VR- which is actually amazing (and may explain the shift back to first person, if you think about it). If there is anything that could ever sell the PSVR to players, it looks like this will be it.

Resident Evil 7 will be coming on January 27, 2017 on PlayStation 4. If it is coming to other platforms, they were (naturally) not confirmed on Sony’s stage. But you don’t have to wait that long to play it either, because the demo is out on the PSN Store for PS4 right now. That’s a hell of a way to do it.
