Today we finally got the curtain pulled back on Resident Evil Village. We got to see both a release date and those on PS5 got a special demo that you should be able to download now. Alongside that, we also saw a new title that’s been rumored and leaked– a new multiplayer title called Resident Evil Re:Verse.

The game was revealed at today’s Resident Evil Showcase with a very brief teaser, which you can see in full below. It is a six player deathmatch affair that uses iconic characters and maps from the franchise. Here we see what appears to be the police station from Resident Evil 2 and 3. It’s not clear if this is only free for all, as it appears in this preview, or if it will have teams as well. You seem to play as the ‘normal’ human characters such as Leon or Jill and, through some fashion, can turn into some of the bigger bioweapons like Nemesis. We will most likely get more details closer to release.

Re:Verse will be free with Village, and it is unclear if it will also get a standalone release or will be attached solely to Village in the same manner that Resistance was to Resident Evil 3. This is also most likely why the multiplayer tag was added to Resident Evil Village on Steam DB before the showcase.
