Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil has been on something of a hot streak for the last few years, with Capcom’s survival horror franchise enjoying unprecedented success on both critical and commercial fronts. Unsurprisingly, its most recent instalment, Resident Evil Village, has very much followed that trend.

In its recent quarterly fiscal report, Capcom announced that Resident Evil Village has surpassed 6.1 million units sold worldwide since its launch a year ago in May 2021. That figure is up from the 5.7 million sales that were reported for the game in January, indicating that it’s keeping up a steady momentum where its commercial performance is concerned.

DLC for Resident Evil Village is also currently in development at Capcom.

The company confirmed that the sales of recent and back catalog titles have contributed to a record high of profits in the fiscal year 2021-22, making this the fifth consecutive year that the company has broken that ceiling.

Resident Evil Village is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.
