Liquid Swords’ Samson: A Tyndalston Story, helmed by Christofer Sundberg of Just Cause fame, is launching on April 8th. Retailing for $24.99, it will be available for PC. Check out the release date trailer, which highlights all the hard-hitting action on foot and in vehicles that you can expect.
As indicated by the title, you’ll play as Samson, a man who returns to Tyndalston to wipe out an extensive debt. The problem? It becomes more oppressive as time passes and the city consistently reacts to your actions, becoming more hostile. You have a limited number of Action Points to spend on different jobs daily, and the consequences can be permanent.
Of course, the actual gameplay in Samson isn’t exactly strategic. Combat is rough and tumble, and encourages leveraging the surrounding environment to survive, whether it’s tossing enemies into obstacles or using rudimentary weapons. And despite Sundberg’s pedigree, Tyndalston isn’t a fully open-world setting, mixing dense content-rich areas with a more narrative-driven focus.
Overall, the main story promises about ten hours of gameplay. However, there may be room for repeated playthroughs, especially as you opt for different decisions to find the best way forward. For more details on the pricing and how Samson punches above its price, head here.
