Last year we once again got the clanking of swords (and other various weapons) with the return of the Samurai Shodown series. The fighting game franchise was one of many that was dormant from SNK, and this new entry saw it come back in a big way, including some out there guest stars as well as some guest spots of its own in other fighting titles. Now, it’s going next gen.

As announced at the Tokyo Game Show this year, the game would be coming to Microsoft’s next generation consoles. Alongside the announcement came a very brief trailer to give you an idea of what it’ll look like using its Japanese name, Samurai Spirits. Check it out below.

Samurai Showdown is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, PC and Stadia. No date was given for the upcoming Series X and Series S version, only that it will release sometime this winter.
