Samurai Shodown

Originally meant to begin this month, SNK’s rollback open beta for Samurai Shodown will run from February 10th to 17th (JST) on PC via Steam. All characters, including DLC fighters, are playable, and all game owners are eligible to participate.

Rollback netcode will be coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and PC players (via Steam and the Epic Games Store) in the future. The weapons-based fighter launched in June 2019 for PS4 and Xbox One and made its way to Stadia in November and Nintendo Switch in December. It would eventually arrive for PC in 2020 on the Epic Games Store but wouldn’t become available on Steam until a year later.

You can check out our review of the game here. It’s received several new characters via DLC over the years, including guest characters like Baiken from Guilty Gear and Hibiki Takane from The Last Blade 2. Stay tuned for more details on rollback netcode in the coming months.
