Silent Hill 1/2/3 Art Director, Series Composer Could be Involved in New Titles

Masahiro Ito, who created the iconic Pyramid Head, and composer Akira Yamaoka have both shared the Transmission stream's announcement.

Update: Legendary composer Akira Yamaoka may also be involved, having shared the announcement on Instagram. Yamaoka also worked on the soundtrack for Bloober Team’s The Medium, so it makes sense for him to be on the rumored Silent Hill 2 remake.

Original Story:

After years of rumors and leaks, Konami has finally announced Transmission stream on October 19th to discuss “the latest updates for the Silent Hill series.” A free playable teaser called Sakura, a remake of Silent Hill 2 by Bloober Team, and a new mainline entry are rumored to be some of the titles in development. Then there’s Silent Hill: The Short Message which was recently rated in South Korea.

However, art director and creature designer Masahiro Ito could be involved. In a new tweet, Ito shared the Silent Hill Transmission stream announcement without adding anything. It could be simply retweeting news for a series he’s worked on in the past. Then again, he did share it multiple times.

We’ll have to wait and see, but this is good news. Ito was responsible for the art and creature designs in Silent Hill, Silent Hill 2, and Silent Hill 3, like the iconic Pyramid Head. If he’s involved with Silent Hill 5, or even working on Silent Hill 2 remake, there could be some new disturbing horrors to look forward to. Stay tuned in the meantime for further updates.
