It’s been known for a while that veteran Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka has been heavily involved in the development of the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake, and with Konami and developer Bloober Team ramping up the game’s marketing ahead of its looming release, the legendary composer has shed new light on his work in the highly anticipated horror title.

Taking to Twitter, Yamaoka revealed that in addition to all of the tracks in the original Silent Hill 2 being completely redone from scratch for the upcoming remake, he also composed entirely new ones, adding that the game’s soundtrack reflects how is approach to music has “evolved” over the course of his career.

“Remade all the original tracks and added new ones,” Yamaoka wrote. “After 25 years, my approach to music has evolved. This work reflects that change, blending past passion with today’s sound, challenging me like never before.”

Silent Hill 2 is due out on October 8 for PS5 and PC. Earlier this month, Konami released a new story trailer for the game, as well as extensive new gameplay footage, which has been followed by new details on the game’s length, expanded exploration, and more.
