Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake just can’t catch a break with its PS5 Pro updates. Patch 1.07 dropped last week for the platform (and base PS5), but despite promising improvements, it’s resulted in issues, especially for those playing on Performance Mode.

Konami has acknowledged the same on Twitter. “Our team is currently investigating these issues and looking into potential solutions.” Unfortunately, it doesn’t have an ETA on fixes, so stay tuned for more information “as soon as it becomes available.”

Players who enabled Performance Mode began reporting issues with the game’s shadows and crushed blacks. Given that the patch was meant to improve overall image quality and improve other aspects like fog rendering, these are far from ideal.

But that’s apparently not all, as one Reddit user noted issues with character models’ hair and faces. Ghosting, an ever-present issue, has seemingly become more prominent, and even those on Quality Mode aren’t safe from supposed lighting issues.

Whether Konami and Bloober Team have a plan to address all of this remains to be seen. Lest we forget, it’s had problems with PS5 Pro support since day one and eventually patched out PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution support in favor of Temporal Super Resolution.

Silent Hill 2 remake is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Check out our review of the base game, which crossed six million players last May.
