Skull and Bones

The years haven’t been kind to Ubisoft Singapore’s Skull and Bones with troubled development, multiple delays, numerous reboots, and allegations of toxic work culture and discrimination. Nevertheless, it could finally be nearing the finish line. In a report on TryHardGuides, insider Tom Henderson heard from sources that Ubisoft would re-reveal the title in the week of July 4th.

Though details on the reveal were “vague,” it seems that a release date is finally being announced and new gameplay revealed. This follows the game’s rating for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC and Google Stadia in Brazil. Xbox One and PS4 versions were not listed in the same, which could indicate their cancellation.

As such, Ubisoft has been conducting closed tests for the title with alpha gameplay leaking from the same. Complaints from participants included no PvP, the lack of depth and limited land-based gameplay. Officially, the publisher said it would launch before March 31st 2023 so a release this year wouldn’t be too strange. We’ll know for sure in the coming weeks so stay tuned.
