Sony Announce Lineup Of Mobile Games, Includes Arc The Lad And Wild Arms

Well that's gotta piss some fans off...

Just like Nintendo, Sony will now be branching out into making mobile games as well- and today, they finally took the wraps off of what they have in the works for their mobile game ventures. Released under their new ForwardWorks label, Sony’s mobile ventures (currently only confirmed for Japan) will include Hot Shots Golf, Arc the LadWild ArmsParappa the Rapper, Disgaea, something being made in conjunction with Square Enix, and a new trading card game, which will also include a Yokai Watch themed deck.

While seeing formerly great and fan favorite cult franchises like Wild Arms and Arc the Lad must doubtless hurt for a lot of fans, it must be noted that both games are being developed by their original developers- and in the case of Wild Arms, Sony is positioning it as the series’ 20th anniversary title. All hope may not yet necessarily be lost.

Of course, it is a bummer that we won’t be seeing these games on PS4 or Vita- but at least we are seeing these brands being kept alive in some form, I guess?
