Senior vice president of the PlayStation brand for Sony Guy Longworth isn’t being subtle when he proclaims the PlayStation 4’s superiority over the Xbox One.

Speaking to GamesIndustry International, he stated that, “The reality is that every time a generation changes the playing field is leveled. We actually think that we’re going to have superior graphic fidelity, but the whole value proposition has to be right.”

Of course, “it’s not just about graphic fidelity” but about communicating a message to the consumer. “What are our policies? What are our principles? What do we stand for, and how do we communicate it?” When it comes to where Sony stands, he states that they have “very clearly told you what we stand for” – referencing Jack Tretton’s announcement that the PS4 would not block used games at E3.

However, for now, it’s already clear that the PS4 is graphically superior to the Xbox One – even if it will take some time for differences to become apparent.
