Sony Santa Monica Hiring Those With ‘Knowledge Of God Of War’

Looks like the sequel to the acclaimed 2018 game is underway.

God of War came out last year to mostly rave reviews (taking mre Game of the Year awards than any other game for 2018) and massive sales. While nothing official has been announced as of now, it’s assumed that a sequel is definitely happening, if not underway. Some new career openings at the game’s developer, Sony Santa Monica, points to that being the case as well.

You can check out the careers page for the studio here. It’s got listings for multiple different positions with qualifiers that point to two things: a next gen project and a sequel to God of War. Many entries explicitly say “must have knowledge of God of War (2018) and be able to speak in depth about the combat systems, mechanics and enemies.” If you’re in the industry and have a desire to work on the next game in the series, this is probably your chance.

All signs point to the sequel being in development, though it’s unlikely we’ll see the game for a good number of years. Either way, it’s no doubt going to be hotly anticipated, whenever it does get shown off, so keep your eyes open.
