Nintendo recently announced a September launch date for Splatoon 3and with the shooter now having a firm release date that’s not too far away, the Japanese company is ramping up its rollout of information for it. Recently, we got another little nugget of info, courtesy of a Twitter update by Nintendo.

With the aforementioned update, Nintendo revealed a new weapon for Splatoon 3– the Triple Inkstrike, a modified version of the Inkstrike, which is a weapon series fans should be familiar with. The weapon will once again allow players to call down tornados of ink to instantly kill anyone caught within, but as the alteration to its name suggests, it will allow for a total of three inkstrikes, which players can manually aim for closer strikers or more strategically spaced out ones. Check it out in action in the clip below.

This isn’t the only new weapon that has been revealed for Splatoon 3, so far. Nintendo has previously also offered glimpses at other additions like the Big Blubber, the Zipcaster, and the Crab Tank, the latter two of which are special weapons. Learn more about them through the links.

Meanwhile, recently discovered patents filed by Nintendo have also hinted at mini-map improvements in the game. Read more on that through here.

Splatoon 3 is launching for Nintendo Switch on September 9. Meanwhile, Splatoon 2 owners with a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription can also play the game’s Octo Expansion DLC for free.
