Star Ocean The Divine Force

Square Enix has released a new Mission Report video for Star Ocean: The Divine Force, outlining some of the villains that players will face. While the Vey’l Empire is the biggest threat to the Kingdom of Aucerius, Raymond, Laeticia, and their party must contend with the Vyrians. Consisting of Gaston Gaucier, Lola Jornaus, and Velanj Garfuul, they all have some business with the mysterious D.U.M.A.

Fortunately, there are allies on Aster IV, like the Trathen and their leader Malkya. As a melee fighter, Malkya can use shape-shifting to extend her limbs and thrash foes. Various skills are also outlined, which are improved by leveling and allocating SP. SP can unlock new skills like Laeticia’s Ronde Mysterieuse, which sends out a tornado at foes, and Raymond’s Intimidate for demoralizing enemies.

Passive Skills include No Guard, which prevents flinching if taking damage below a certain threshold, and Never Keep You Down, where the user gains a buff after recovering from a knockdown. The party can also discover gems in the world to obtain D.U.M.A. Points or DP to enhance D.U.M.A.’s skills, from reducing detection range by 25 percent to 10 percent increased Blindside duration on enemies.

Star Ocean: The Divine Force is out on October 27th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. The next Mission Report video will highlight item creation and mini-games, so stay tuned for more details.
