Along with releasing a new free update that finally adds a land vehicle to the game, Bethesda has also announced that Starfield will be getting its first paid expansion, Shattered Space, next month. To go along with that, further details on the expansion have also been revealed, courtesy of lead creative producer Tim Lamb, who recently appeared on Xbox’s day one Gamescom livestream.

The bulk of the new details revealed by Lamb pertain to Dazra, the capital city of House Va’ruun, where, as previously confirmed, the expansion will largely take place. The expansion will begin aboard a derelict star station, which will then lead to the hidden home planet of House Va’ruun and the city of Dazra.

In Dazra, players will find the city reeling from a catastrophic event, following which unraveling the mystery of the event will be your primary goal. That will also involve dealing with multiple minor houses of the faction of House Va’ruun, with Lamb also promising “lots of choices” for players to make where the story is concerned.

Where Dazra itself is concerned, players can look forward to plenty of hidden nooks and crannies to explore, while returning to previous areas to uncover secret locations will also be encouraged. Players will also explore the area around Dazra, while you can also look forward to new weapons, gear, items, and more. And of course, players will also be able to drive the new Rev-8 anywhere on Va’ruun’kai, which is the name of the expansion’s new planet.

Starfield: Shattered Space launches on September 30 for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
