It’s not easy surviving in a zombie apocalypse, especially the one in Undead Labs’ State of Decay 2. The follow-up to the studio’s breakout open world/zombie survival title, State of Decay 2 is bigger while still sticking to its roots. In a new gameplay launch trailer, we learn a bit about what it takes to survive out in this wild world. Check it out below.

Taking place 18 months after the outbreak, State of Decay 2 will feature a number of different characters from builders and farmers to charismatic leaders and soldiers. The real secret to success is to seemingly aim for the head. But depending on the map, you’ll either need to obtain more resources for upgrading your base or procure more food for survivors.

Each of the three maps is “roughly” the size of the previous game’s, according to the developer, with more possibly being added in the future. State of Decay 2 will release on May 22nd for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.
