Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - Sephiroth

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai recently went over what to expect from the game’s next Challenger Pack, which is Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7. The Challenger Pack goes live on December 22nd and is purchasable standalone for $5.99 or as part of the Fighters Pass Vol. 2. But for those who can’t wait, pre-ordering the Challenger Pack (or owning Fighters Pass Vol. 2) will allow for playing a special Sephiroth Challenge.

It’s essentially a boss battle and clearing it will unlock Sephiroth, the nine new music tracks and the Northern Cave stage early. This can be done on any difficulty. Unlike Cloud, Sephiroth is touted as being a lighter character who can move very quickly. Utilizing Masamune, he can execute quick slashes and also has different spells to make life miserable for his opponents.

Due to being taller though, he might be caught by attacks that Cloud could potentially avoid. Along with all of the above, Challenger Pack 8 also adds a new Spirits Board based on Final Fantasy which has the likes of Aerith, Tifa and Barret available.
