The acclaimed remake has got off to a solid start since its launched for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC in November.
The game itself will remain alive, and previous season passes will be made available again, but Square Enix won't be releasing any new content updates.
Mistwalker and Square Enix's retro-style turn-based RPG will launch for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC on December 5.
"We are working on this and will update when the game is able to be purchased again," Square Enix says.
After leaving Ouka Studios on October 31st, Ryosuke Yoshida said, "I will do my best to make a game that many people can enjoy!”
Astro Bot, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, and Silent Hill 2's remake also saw week-on-week increases in sales in the region.
The retro RPG remake sold an additional 70,000 units on Nintendo Switch, and another 20,000 on PlayStation 5, as per newly released Japanese charts.
"Whatever it is, I'm incredibly excited to work on that and see what we can do with that knowledge we've built up," says Naoki Hamaguchi.
"I do want to bring Final Fantasy 7 and the Remake series to as many players out there as possible," says Naoki Hamaguchi.
"Looking forward to the third game and to other games, if you asked me 'would I do the same number of minigames', I don't think I would," says Naoki Hamaguchi.
Square Enix's RPG sold over 641,000 units on the Nintendo Switch, with the remaining sales coming from the PlayStation side. This only accounts for physical sales.
"What the fans really want to see the most is not necessarily DLC. They want to see the third part of the series as quickly as possible."
Available for $9.99, the 11 cosmetics include 9S and Emil outfits for Lily and Adam while transforming Eve into 2B or A2.
The mobile online RPG will launch first in China with a global release coming soon afterward, though release dates haven't yet been announced.
Both are also nominated for Game of the Year, alongside Balatro, Black Myth: Wukong, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, and Metaphor: ReFantazio.
The game's imminent digital release will be followed by a physical launch in January, Square Enix has confirmed.
The 11 new cosmetics require payment, but everything else coming on November 20th, including Photo Mode poses and other outfits, is free.
Producer Yoshinori Kitase previously said Square Enix was targeting a 2027 launch for the final instalment in the remake trilogy.
"We won’t cheat with the airship system, but challenge it head-on so that players can freely fly around the map," says producer Yoshinori Kitase.
The RPG sees consistent increases in its player engagement numbers on Steam on its second day, with its peak concurrent user count climbing to over 37,000.
