Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge Development Discussed in Behind-the-Scenes Video

Tribute co-founder Jean-Francois Major and Dotemu CEO Cyrille Imbert talk about teaming together and working on a "dream project."

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is a dream come true for many fans, serving as a follow-up to classics like TMNT: Turtles in Time. It’s all the more so for Tribute Games and publisher Dotemu who grew up with the titles.

In a new behind-the-scenes video, Tribute co-founder Jean-Francois Major and Dotemu CEO Cyrille Imbert talk about their dream of working on the project. Since Dotemu worked on Streets of Rage 4, there was interest in a game focused on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. When speaking to Nickelodeon, it mentioned Tribute Games was also pitching and thus did the two “join forces.”

The title is a side-scrolling beat ’em up with the same animated style as the classic 1987 cartoon. It sees Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo and Leonardo fighting off the Foot Clan and their leader Shredder. In addition to the Turtles, April O’Neil and Master Splinter are also playable.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is out later this year for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
