As we get close to the September 3rd release date for Rebel Wolves’ open-world RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker, the studio has released a brand-new launch trailer for the game. It clocks in at over a minute and a half in length, and you can check it out below.
The trailer kicks things off with narration about how old legends often have “a grain of truth” before flashing over to some otherworldly creatures doing their business with seemingly innocent people. The trailer largely focuses on story, with protagonist Coen facing off against these supernatural beings by using his own vampiric abilities.
The short glimpses of gameplay we get emphasize the fact that combat will be swift and brutal, and players will have to deal with being vulnerable during the day despite being quite powerful at night.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, and while the studio hadn’t originally planned to support a 60 FPS mode on consoles – including the PS5 Pro – player feedback has led it to reconsider. To address this, a day-one patch has been confirmed that will add a Performance Mode to the game.
Rebel Wolves then showcased this Performance Mode with a brand-new trailer showcasing 60 FPS gameplay across PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X by making use of dynamic resolution scaling. The Xbox Series S, however, can only support 30 FPS gameplay due to the console’s weaker hardware.
