Fntastic’s open world survival MMO The Day Before has been delayed ahead of its June 21st release. As revealed to IGN, it will now release on March 1st 2023 and utilize Unreal Engine 5. The developer stated that “millions of people” had wishlisted the game, thus making The Day Before “one of the most anticipated games in the world.”

“Feeling and understanding the great responsibility that we face, with enormous gratitude in our hearts, we’re pleased to announce that The Day Before is switching to the new Unreal Engine 5 technology! The transition to a more advanced and adapted open world engine, will make the gameplay of The Day Before even more fantastic.”

Set in a post-pandemic United States, players must scavenge whatever weapons, food and resources they can to survive against infected foes and other survivors. There’s a wide variety of environments to explore, from abandoned houses to cities with skyscrapers. Along with traversing on foot, there are also vehicles to command and players can also interact in survivor colonies.

The Day Before will be coming to PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Along with ray traced reflections and RTX Global Illumination and ambient occlusion, it also supports Nvidia DLSS. Stay tuned for more details on the title along with any new gameplay running in Unreal Engine 5 in the coming months.
