Ubisoft has released a free trial for The Division 2, allowing players up to eight hours of playtime and progressing up to level 8. Unlike previous free weekends and trial periods, this free trial is permanently available for PC players to access. It’s currently available on the Epic Games Store and Uplay but should come to consoles soon.

There are some limitations of course. Clans and real money purchases aren’t available, though progress does transfer over from the trial version to the full game if you purchase it. If you’re coming from Rainbow Six Siege, then playing the trial will grant a free cosmetic set for the Operator Ela. This includes an Agent uniform, headgear, watch charm and skin.

The Division 2 recently saw the release of Title Update 9 which adjusted several Exotics and Named Weapons along with the difficulty of certain NPCs. Unfortunately, it also nerfed the True Patriot set’s healing along with stealth nerfing the M1A. We’ll see how Ubisoft Massive addresses these concerns in the coming months though.
