The Division 2_01

Like other looter shooters, The Division 2 also has RPG elements; these include leveling your character up and unlocking skills. In this guide, we talk about those.

QUICKEST WAY TO LEVEL

The level cap in The Division 2 at launch is 30, and while that may seem simple to reach, it can actually be a bit of a grind. There’s no real “shortcut” to get there—just some activities that are more efficient than others, really. Every activity in The Division 2 gets you XP:

  • Story Missions
  • Side Missions
  • Exploration
  • Combat

There is a method to the madness, obviously—early on, the story missions are the best (often only) way of earning XP. Later on, sidequests and XP from incidental combat and exploration can supplement that very well. That said, the grinding nature can set in, so the easiest exploit is to use side missions in the late game:

  • XP from side missions scales, which means you get more in the late game than in the early game
  • Side quests also grant a percentage of the XP you need to level up (meaning it’s always best to undertake them early in a level, not when you are on the cusp of leveling up)
