Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 has been available for Gold and Ultimate Edition owners thanks to early access. The Standard Edition, though, goes live today for Xbox One, PS4, and PC, and to help ease new players into the experience, Ubisoft has released a brief primer video. It explains almost every facet of The Division 2, from its premise and world design to its combat.
If you’ve played the first game, the tactical cover-based combat will look familiar. It’s even more pronounced in the sequel, thanks to a new armour system, relatively smarter AI tactics, and skills requiring more interaction to be useful. Set in Washington D.C. with new factions to fight, The Division 2 also boasts a number of settlements that players can help upgrade.
The journey doesn’t end at launch though. Ubisoft Massive has a comprehensive road-map for free DLC, including different story episodes, raids, and a new World Tier. All of this will be free, with Year One Season Pass owners receiving 7 days of early access.
