Tom Clancy’s The Division will be expanding its loot pool when the Incursion hits thanks to Gear Sets. Unlike current High-End and Superior gear, Gear Sets will allow for unique buffs and bonuses when players collect the entire set. There will be four sets with update 1.1, each catering to a different play-style (including one for solo Dark Zone agents).

However, there will be more in the future. Lead game designer Mathias Karlson recently said in a developer podcast that “We’re going to keep adding them.”

It’s worth noting that despite the power of Gear Sets, they’re by no means overpowered. “We try as best as we can to make sure that all of the mechanics, all the stats, the skills, the gear talents, the future gear sets, that they work in both PvE and PvP. That there’s no inherent built-in imbalance.”

Gear Set items can be gained in a variety of ways, namely as drops, assignment completion rewards, rewards from Falcon Lost, map exploration and even from vendors.

Karlson also said that the development team is working on allowing players to compare weapons with and without attachments equipped. “We know it’s a pain to compare weapons with mods right now. We’re going to fix it.”

Update 1.1 arrives on April 12th so clear your schedule.
