The Division Changes Mask Rewards, Special Weekend Event Announced

Future Global Events will now award masks based on commendations completed.

Along with reveal information about update 1.8 in its State of the Game, Ubisoft Massive announced some changes to how masks would be doled out in Tom Clancy’s The Division.

There was controversy when the game’s first Global Event went live due to the new cosmetic masks being tied to one’s position on the leaderboards. Following outcry from the players, Massive has announced that masks from the past event will be doled out to players by either this weekend or early next week.

The next Global Event is still a few weeks away and will feature changes to the leaderboard system. Also, masks will now be tied to special Global Event commendations instead of leaderboard position. Don’t worry though – if you do well on the leaderboard, you’ll still receive some Classified Caches.

The next special event for the game has already begun and will end on September 5th, 7:01 AM UTC and will allow players to gain additional rewards from killing Named Enemies. Keep in mind that Classified Gear drops are not part of the extra rewards.
