The Division Open Beta Had 6.4 Million Players, Largest for New IP on Current Gen

2.5 million players went rogue in the Dark Zone.

Move over DestinyTom Clancy’s The Division has officially earned the title of biggest beta for a new IP on current gen platforms. Granted, while Destiny was available on previous gen as well, it only saw some 4.6 million beta participants. The Division had 6.4 million players take part in its beta.

Ubisoft shared some stats on the same including players spending an average of 4 hours and 52 minutes of playtime, a third of that going to the Dark Zone’s PvP where 2.5 million players went rogue. It was also revealed that more than 63,309,800 contaminated loot items were extracted out of the Dark Zone.

Creative director Magnus Jansen stated that, “We want to thank the millions of people who joined in on The Division’s Open Beta. We hope everybody enjoyed playing, and we think the beta is going to help ensure a great launch for the game. We’re looking forward to everyone getting their hands on the full game when The Division is released on March 8th.”
