There are plenty of times where a community may complain about a game just for the heck of it but in this particular case for Tom Clancy’s The Division, the fans turned out to be right.

In The Division, players could roll with the perk “Protection Against Elites” for their armour which is meant to reduce the damage taken from yellow bar enemies in Challenging and other difficult missions (like the Incursion). However, as Reddit discovered, the perk actually increased the amount of damage taken from Elites – this was discovered to be an actual flaw in the game’s coding.

Ubisoft Massive community manager Hamish Bode acknowledged the issue on Twitch (at 01:19:00). “Protection from Elites is not working as intended. Right now, it does the opposite. If you’re wearing Protection against Elite, you’re actually taking more damage rather than less damage.

“Protection against Elites – don’t put it on your character, if you can,” as noted by one Reddit user. The issue is expected to be fixed “very, very soon”.
