In The Last of Us’ universe, September 26, 2013 was the day that the global cordyceps outbreak tore the world apart. In real life, Naughty Dog celebrates September 26 every year as a celebration of the series and The Last of Us’ community. This year, as with all years, Naughty Dog has similar plans for The Last of Us Day (known until last year as Outbreak Day), with some potentially notable announcements.

Over on the PlayStation Blog, Naughty Dog unveiled new upcoming The Last of Us merchandise in celebration of the upcoming community day, including everything from shirts and beanies to bomber jackets and guitar packs. Notably, Naughty Dog also says it will be “revealing some all-new content” in a couple of days, on September 26, at 9:00 AM PT / 6:00 PM CE.

“All-new content” can mean any number of things, of course, but fans will be hoping that Naughty Dog and Sony have new games to tease and announce. We know the studio is working on a standalone multiplayer Factions game, while thanks to leaks, we also know that a remake of the first game in the series is also work on the PS5. Of course, there are many who’re still holding out hope for an upgraded PS5 remaster of The Last of Us Part 2. There’s also the chance that Naughty Dog might have some news to share about the upcoming HBO adaptation of The Last of Us.

Whether any of this ends up getting announced anytime soon remains to be seen, but we’ll keep an eye out for any interesting updates, so stay tuned.
