The Last of Us Debuts The Clickers, 25 New Screenshots/Concept Art

Welcome to the apocalypse.

As we draw ever nearer to the release of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us on May 7th exclusively for the Playstation 3, so too do we become ever more intimate to the world that this third person survival action title is based in.

And lord, is it a scary place.

This is evidenced in new gameplay footage released by Sony Computer Entertainment, which debuts the the Clickers. Whether they’re zombies or horribly irradiated mutants/ghouls is unsure (they don’t seem to react to light, and somewhat react to sound) but can be defined by the clicking sound they make as they shuffle through their surroundings. They bite though. So there’s that.

Naughty Dog has also released a ton of new screenshots along with some concept art, so we get a closer look at gameplay across different locales and the Clickers themselves in all their grotesque, 2D illustrated glory. Check both out below.
