The Last of Us fans have plenty to look forward to, but the bulk of the excitement surrounding the series has largely been focused on the upcoming HBO adaptation in recent weeks. Earlier this year, a debut trailer of the series confirmed that it would be airing in 2023, and now, it seems a more specific date has been confirmed as well.
As spotted by @DomTheBombYT on Twitter, The Last of Us’ official HBO page states that the series will be premiering worldwide on January 15, 2023- which might be a little earlier than what many would have expected. Of course, neither HBO nor Sony have made any such official announcement yet, but given this development, there’s a good chance that we get concrete word on that front soon enough.
Meanwhile, Naughty Dog is also working on a standalone multiplayer The Last of Us game, which, as per a recent job listing, could be a free-to-play title. Read more on that through here.
