The Last of Us Part 1 PC Version Will Launch “Very Soon After PS5 Release”

Naughty Dog's senior environment texture artist Jonathan Benainous says there won't be too much of a gap between the PS5 and PC releases of the upcoming remake.

The Last of Us Part 1

Even with all the controversy surrounding the game, there’s little doubt in anyone’s mind that The Last of Us Part 1 is still going to end up selling very well. The fact that the game is going to come to PC and become available to a new and larger audience is, of course, going to help with that- but when exactly is the PC version coming? Currently, there’s no date attached to it, but according to Naughty Dog, the wait shouldn’t be a very long one.

Responding to a fan on Twitter, Naughty Dog’s senior environment texture artist Jonathan Benainous recently sound that The Last of Us Part 1’s PC version will come “very soon after the PS5 release”. Exactly how soon that will be remains to be seen, though it’s fair to see that the gap between the game’s initial launch and its eventual PC port will be much shorter than it has been for the PlayStation games that Sony has brought to PC so far, including the likes of God of War and the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man.

The Last of Us Part 1 launches for PS5 on September 2, so hopefully, it will only be a few months before the game’s PC version is out as well.
