Naughty Dog’s seminal action adventure game, The Last of Us, released last year for the PlayStation 3, was a smash hit with critics; it scored a perfect 10 on GamingBolt, and was our Game of the Year for last year. But players loved it too, as evidenced by the staggering 6 million copies it has sold worldwide so far. For a brand new IP released right at the end of the console generation, with new consoles around the corner, that’s insanely impressive, but by any standard, that is some extremely good performance.
The Last of Us was Naughty Dog’s fourth effort last generation, following three Uncharted games; like the second Uncharted game, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, The Last of Us sits atop and dominates multiple all time greatest lists. Naughty Dog has often discussed the prospect of bringing the game to the just launched PlayStation 4, and of developing a sequel, but neither have yet been confirmed.
