Bloober Team’s most ambitious title till date, The Medium, is finally out this week. Instead of a first-person horror title like Layers of Fear or Observer, The Medium is a third-person psychological horror with an intriguing Dual Reality gameplay mechanic. However, to provide a general feel for the story, the first 18 minutes of the game on Xbox Series X has been revealed courtesy of IGN. Check it out below.

The Medium is the story of Marianne, a psychic capable of traveling to the Spirit realm. Upon heading to an abandoned hotel resort, she gets caught up in the tragedy that occurred there and must find a way to survive. Along with traveling to the Spirit realm, Marianne also possesses the ability to explore the human realm at the same time.

The Dual Reality gameplay is fairly unique and can be seen in further detail here. The Medium is out on January 28th for Xbox Series X/S and PC along with Xbox Game Pass. For more information on the PC system requirements – including 4K and ray-tracing – head here.
